Dancehall star, Shatta Wale, has sparked fresh debate on social media after strongly defending Ghanaian women against what he described as disrespectful narratives.

In a tweet that has since gone viral, the musician criticised individuals who label Ghanaian women as “cheap,” calling the remarks hypocritical and offensive.

“Nobody should say Ghanaian women are cheap, it’s disrespectful because most of you boys here do same or even worse when you see white men/foreigners. Gerrout with your hypocritical talks… Mcheew,” he wrote.

His comment comes amid ongoing public outrage over a foreign national, reportedly a Russian, who allegedly filmed intimate encounters with some Ghanaian women without their consent and shared the content online. The incident has triggered widespread condemnation, with many Ghanaians calling for stronger protection of women’s privacy and dignity.
