Ghana launches “Akuafoɔ Anidasoɔ” digital platform to improve agriculture

The Government of Ghana, through the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA), has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding with Fauree Link GH Limited to roll out a nationwide digital agricultural platform called “Akuafoɔ Anidasoɔ” (Farmers’ Hope).

The agreement, signed in Accra on February 16, 2026, sets out a framework to develop a Ghana-focused, government-branded digital platform designed to transform farmer services, agricultural financing, input distribution, and market access.

The “Akuafoɔ Anidasoɔ” (Farmers’ Hope) platform will act as the central digital backbone for Ghana’s agricultural sector. It will provide:

  • National farmer registration and verification
    • Digital input distribution and targeted subsidy management
    • Embedded agricultural finance solutions
    • Market linkage and buyer aggregation systems
    • Government oversight dashboards and data-driven policy monitoring

The platform will operate as a government-branded white-label system, aligned with the Feed Ghana Programme and the broader agricultural modernization agenda. Under the terms of the MoU, Fauree Link GH Limited will be responsible for designing, customizing, deploying, and managing the platform.

A structured pilot programme is scheduled to begin on March 15, 2026, ahead of the new farming season. The pilot will test system readiness, farmer onboarding, and the integration of the platform into the wider agricultural ecosystem before scaling it nationwide.

The MoU also emphasizes Ghana’s commitment to data sovereignty and farmer protection. Individual user data will remain the property of farmers, while aggregated and anonymized macroeconomic data from the platform will be treated as a national asset.

This collaboration is seen as a major step in Ghana’s digital agriculture transformation. By integrating technology into farmer registration, financing, and market systems, the initiative is expected to boost productivity, improve transparency, enhance subsidy targeting, and expand farmers’ access to finance and organized markets.

Experts note that this move positions Ghana to become a regional leader in digital agricultural governance and agricultural finance innovation.
