The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) intensified its public fire‑safety education efforts in Krachi West on Monday, February 16 .
The outreach programme took place aboard the Kete Krachi ferry, which operates between Kete Krachi and Kadjebi.
Led by Assistant Station Officer (ASTNO) Joseph Teye Tuwor, officers engaged with travellers, educating them on effective methods to prevent domestic and bush fires, and highlighting emergency preparedness and appropriate measures to take during fire outbreaks.
They also shared emergency contact numbers for prompt reporting in the event of a fire.
This initiative is part of the GNFS’s broader community‑engagement campaign across the Oti Region, which focuses on raising fire‑prevention awareness in public spaces and institutions throughout Ghana.
