The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has received assorted food items from the Hudai Foundation for distribution to prison inmates in Ghana.

The donation, made at the National Mosque in Kanda, Accra, is aimed at supporting inmates during the holy month of Ramadan.

The food items, which include rice, tomato paste, spaghetti, sunflower oil, and sugar, were handed over to the Minister as a gesture of goodwill and charity by the Hudai Foundation.

Mr. Muntaka expressed his gratitude to the Foundation and the Turkish Ambassador to Ghana, noting that the donation will go a long way in improving the living conditions of inmates.

“We appreciate this kind gesture from the Hudai Foundation and the Turkish Government. As a ministry, we are committed to ensuring that the health and well-being of inmates are taken care of, despite their circumstances.

“We welcome any support that can help improve the conditions in our prisons.”

The Minister also assured the Turkish Ambassador of the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between Ghana and Turkey.

He thanked the Ambassador and the Hudai Foundation for their annual donation and called on other organizations to support the Ghana Prisons Service in its efforts to improve inmate welfare.

Mr. Remzi Şeker, Hudai Country Coordinator, explained that the donation is part of the Foundation’s charity and goodwill initiatives.

“Ramadan is a month of blessings and sacrifices, and we believe it is our duty to support those in need. We will continue to do our best to provide support to the needy and vulnerable, including prison inmates,” he stated.

The Hudai Foundation is a Turkish charitable organization that provides humanitarian assistance to vulnerable populations, including orphans, widows, and prisoners.

The Foundation has been involved in various philanthropic activities in Ghana, including providing food, clothing, and medical supplies to those in need.
