The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak, has presented assorted food items to the Ghana Prisons Service.

The items included bags of sugar, gallons of cooking oil, cartons of tomato paste, bags of rice, and quantities of milk and other essential food supplies.

He presented these items on Monday, February 23, 2026, to support inmates across the country during the Ramadan period.

The items are to be distributed to major prison facilities nationwide to support the feeding of inmates, particularly Muslim inmates observing the holy month of Ramadan.

The Minister stressed the importance of supporting inmates during Ramadan, describing the period as one of reflection, sacrifice, and spiritual renewal.

He commended the resilience of people in custody and reiterated Government’s commitment to improving their welfare and living conditions.

Mr. Muntaka thanked the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Engineers and Planners, Mr Ibrahim Mahama, for his continued support for the Service.
