President John Dramani Mahama has confirmed and sworn in Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sarpong as Chief Fire Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service and Samuel Basintale Amadu as Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service.

The ceremony, held at the Presidency earlier this morning, formally confirmed the two security chiefs as heads of the Ghana National Fire Service and the Ghana Immigration Service, respectively.

As Chief Fire Officer, Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sarpong assumes responsibility for directing national fire prevention strategies, strengthening public safety education, and leading emergency response operations nationwide.

Samuel Basintale Amadu, in his role as Comptroller General, will oversee border security, migration management, and the enforcement of Ghana’s immigration laws.

President Mahama charged them to provide decisive leadership, uphold discipline and professionalism, and enhance institutional performance in safeguarding the nation, strengthening emergency response, and improving border management systems.

Madam Mawusi Ntow Sarpong was appointed on March 24, 2025, becoming the first woman to lead the Ghana National Fire Service. Before her elevation, she served as Deputy Chief Fire Officer and Director of Fire Safety, where she earned recognition for her leadership and commitment to fire prevention and safety standards.

Samuel Basintale Amadu was also appointed in March 2025 and now takes full charge of the Ghana Immigration Service at a time when border security and migration governance remain critical national priorities.
