The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects for allegedly attempting to disarm a Police bodyguard during a foiled robbery attack at the residence of a Court of Appeal Judge in Kumasi.

The Police indicated that on Tuesday, March, 3, 2026, suspects identified as Patrick Alor, 23 years and Akwasi Gyamfi 21 years, scaled the fence wall of the Judge’s wall armed with cutlasses and scissors, attempted to break into a private vehicle but were spotted by the bodyguard on duty.

In self-defense, the bodyguard fired at the suspects, injuring them in the legs. The suspects were taken to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and are receiving treatment.

“In accordance with Police operational procedures, the bodyguard discharged his firearm, resulting in gunshot wounds to the left and right legs of the suspects, respectively.

“The injured suspects were immediately conveyed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Kumasi, where they are currently on admission and responding to treatment under police guard,” the statement disclosed.

The Police Command reaffirms its commitment to protecting members of the judiciary and all citizens, commending the vigilance, professionalism, and bravery of the bodyguard, whose swift action prevented a potentially serious incident.
