Two Ghanaians are among four individuals injured in a drone strike linked to the ongoing war between Iran and Israel, the government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has confirmed.

According to a statement by the Dubai Media Office, two drones landed within the vicinity of Dubai International Airport on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.

It confirmed that the victims sustained minor to moderate injuries. The other victims include one Bangladeshi national and one Indian national.

“The competent authorities have confirmed the downing of two drones in the vicinity of Dubai International Airport (DXB), resulting in minor injuries to two individuals of Ghanaian nationality and one Bangladeshi individual, as well as a moderate injury to one individual of Indian nationality,” parts of the statement said.

This marks the second time a drone strike has disrupted flight operations at the airport. The first incident was recorded on Saturday after an aerial drone, reportedly launched from Tehran, was intercepted near the facility.

Reports indicate that the UAE’s air defence systems have detected 1,475 drones launched by Iran since the start of hostilities on Saturday, February 28.

Meanwhile, authorities have confirmed that flight operations at Dubai International Airport have resumed.
