The Founder and Leader of Obaasima Movement Ghana (OMG), Obaasima Serwaa Akoto, has urged Ghanaians to place greater emphasis on Practical Entrepreneurship and Vocational Skills (PEVS).
‎
‎She stressed that while formal employment is valuable, self-employment offers stronger financial stability.
‎
‎Speaking at the event held at the forecourt of Angel FM today, on the theme “Entrepreneur Training and Health Awareness,” she urged citizens to rethink their approach to work and to prioritize skills that can generate independent income.
‎
‎”Although it is good to be employed, it is better to have your own work; vocational training provides a reliable path to financial independence,” she emphasized.
‎
‎Serwaa Akoto noted that practical skills such as producing shower gel, after-wash, liquid soap, and detergents can help individuals sustain themselves economically.
‎
‎She further encouraged young people to take advantage of training opportunities in vocational fields, highlighting that such skills are essential for building resilience in Ghana’s economy.
‎
‎Obaasima Serwaa Akoto expressed her satisfaction with the program’s turnout, saying it was beyond her imagination, stating that over 200 participants showed up which exceeded her expectation.
‎
‎She appealed to other stakeholders for their support and urged the public to join the movement.
