The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has cautioned the public, especially Ghanaian youth, about individuals and networks linked to QNET and similar schemes that lure nationals abroad with false promises.

In a statement issued on Friday, March 13, 2026, the Ministry noted a rise in cases where Ghanaians are tricked into traveling overseas under pretenses of employment opportunities, business prospects, or assistance in securing European visas.

According to the Ministry, the scams have left many victims stranded, detained by foreign immigration authorities, or subjected to distressing and exploitative conditions abroad.

The Ministry advised citizens to exercise extreme caution and verify all travel, recruitment, and business offers through official channels before making any financial commitments or traveling outside Ghana.

It also urged parents, guardians, and community leaders to support public education efforts about the dangers of such schemes. Suspicious activities should be reported immediately to the Ministry via consular@mfa.gov.gh or +233 204 552 750, or to the relevant security and immigration authorities.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with national institutions to protect Ghanaian citizens’ welfare and to curb criminal networks that target unsuspecting individuals.
