Gospel Centre Assemblies of God combines health screening with ‘heavenly’ message

The Gospel Centre Assemblies of God, in collaboration with Ikederb Medical Outreach, has organized a free medical screening exercise for residents of Osu, Aglashie, blending physical health care with spiritual renewal.

The outreach aimed at educating participants on HIV/AIDS, typhoid, intertwined with messages of faith and healthy living, emphasizing abstinence as a preventive measure.

Speaking at the screening exercise held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, the Associate Minister Jude Daniels noted that the exercise is beyond providing basic health services, alongside imparting spiritual well-being to the residents.

“The Christian virtues teach us to be chaste in all our ways, so abstinence is what we are preaching here. Aside from the medical screening, we have a final table where we share the word of God and preach Christ so that people can be strengthened through His word,” he said.

He described the health outreach as both a response to community challenges and a platform to bring the gospel closer to the people.

“It is not just about spreading the gospel, and what motivated us is that the community needs Christ, and we believe they must be in good health and spiritual standing to serve God effectively,” he explained.

The Minister also urged the youth to live responsibly, drawing attention to the prevalence of HIV.

“What they must understand is that the virus is real, and in as much as there are antiretroviral drugs, your quality of life can be reduced.

“And the best we will say as a church to the youth is to abstain and live a chaste, holy life for the Lord,” he reiterated.
