The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has announced the Vodza Easter Regatta 2026, one of Ghana’s most celebrated cultural and sporting tourism events.
GTA, in collaboration with the Vodza Ecotourism Initiative, the Keta Municipal Assembly, traditional authorities, and key tourism stakeholders, disclosed that
The event is scheduled to take place from Friday, 3rd April to Sunday, 5th April 2026 at Vodza in the Keta Municipality of the Volta Region.
It is organized by GTA, in collaboration with the Vodza Ecotourism Initiative, the Keta Municipal Assembly, traditional authorities, and key tourism stakeholders.
According to the GTA, the 2026 Regatta will feature a rich line‑up of activities, including Woezor Night at the Keta Parks and Gardens, traditional canoe‑rowing competitions, beach games, cultural performances, and the Canoe Jam Music Festival at the Emancipation Beach Resort.
The festival will also host tourism exhibitions, organised tours, and curated visitor experiences aimed at promoting the Southern Volta enclave and positioning Ghana as a preferred tourism destination.
Patrons will enjoy food bazaars featuring authentic Ghanaian and Volta‑Anlo cuisines, exhibitions of local crafts and artefacts, as well as cultural displays that highlight the heritage, history, and lifestyle of the people of Anlo and the wider Volta Region.
The Vodza Easter Regatta has, over the years, grown into a major Easter attraction, drawing visitors from across Ghana and beyond, and continues to play a significant role in promoting domestic tourism, cultural preservation, and community‑based tourism development.
The event forms part of ongoing efforts to diversify Ghana’s tourism offerings by promoting unique cultural, recreational, and community‑based tourism experiences across the country, while creating economic opportunities for local communities through increased visitor participation during festive periods.
The Authority invites the public, corporate institutions, the media, and the international community to participate in the Vodza Easter Regatta 2026 and experience the rich culture, hospitality, and scenic beauty of the Volta Region.
