The Secretary to the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS), Colonel Dominic Buah, has issued a strong warning to illegal miners who engage in violent confrontations with members of the anti-galamsey task-force.

Speaking at NAIMOS’s editors forum on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, he cautioned that the taskforce will not stand idle while its personnel come under armed attack during operations.

“NAIMOS will not stand by and watch people use weapons against us,” Col. Dominic Buah stated.

He stressed that members of the anti-illegal mining team are highly trained, “alerting that anybody who dares, NAIMOS will deal with them ruthlessly.”

Mr. Buah emphasized that NAIMOS remains committed to conducting its operations within the law noting that members of the task force are permitted to defend themselves when attacked.

He further cautioned illegal miners that any attempt to use weapons against the team would attract a strong response.

“Let no Galamseyers miss that, if you go to the field with weapons and you try to fire it, a lot of more will be at you,” he added.
