The Oti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Alex Acquah, has led a high-level engagement in Nkwanta aimed at strengthening peace, vigilance, and security collaboration in the area.

According to the Regional Police Command, DCOP Acquah visited Nkwanta on March 26, 2026, with senior officers to meet Police personnel and encourage discipline, vigilance, and professionalism in their duties.

He later led a joint security team comprising Police, Military, BNI, and Defence Intelligence Officers to the Zongo Community, where they met the Zongo Chief, Alhaji Issaka Kayaba, and his elders.

The Commander conveyed condolences on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police and the Police Management Board (POMAB) following the death of three adult male community members in recent violent attacks in Nkwanta South Municipality.

DCOP Acquah also visited the site of a previous arson incident at Dadaga, where two lives were lost, to assess the situation.

The Police Command indicated that it continues to monitor developments and urged residents to remain calm, law-abiding, and cooperative with security agencies.

The Command further cautioned against misinformation and called for restraint to prevent escalation.
