Developing reports from Vienna, Austria, suggest that the Black Stars’ hotel was burglarized ahead of their international friendly against Austria on March 27, 2026.

According to a report by Accra-based Sporty FM, the incident occurred at the team’s training camp, where two players later reported that Rolex watches valued at $20,000 had been stolen after their third training session on Wednesday.

The next day, a technical team member also discovered that $2,250 in cash was missing.

Team officials filed a report, and authorities involved have begun an investigation. However, efforts to review security footage were hindered by hotel management, who cited malfunctioning cameras.

Authorities are collaborating with relevant stakeholders to identify and apprehend those responsible.

The Black Stars are scheduled to face Austria at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion on March 27, 2026, with kick-off at 17:00 GMT.

They will then play against Germany in Stuttgart on March 30 as part of their preparations for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
