I have a lot to say – Empress Gifty speaks on Telecel Ghana music awards controversy
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Gospel musician, Empress Gifty, has expressed concerns about the ongoing conversations surrounding the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs), revealing that she has a lot to say but has chosen to remain silent.

In a video shared on Instagram on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, the singer disclosed that she has several reservations about the nominations for this year’s awards. However, she indicated that speaking out could expose her to backlash and trolling on social media.

“This issue surrounding the TGMAs, if I were given the chance, I would say something. In fact, there are many things I want to say, but there’s a song that talks about how I could get into trouble if I do… I can’t say some of them,” she said.

Her comments come amid widespread discussions and differing opinions about the nominations for the 2026 edition of the awards scheme.

Following her remarks, some fans supported her decision to remain silent, agreeing that speaking openly on such issues often attracts unnecessary criticism online, while others urged her to share her views regardless of potential backlash.

“It’s true they will ignore everybody’s comments and complaints and attack yours,” one fan commented.
