The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Simon Edwin Okraku, has disclosed the reason behind the sacking of Otto Addo as the Black Stars coach.

He stated that the Association, first and foremost, considers the country’s interest above all other factors.

Coach Otto Addo was shown the exit door with immediate effect after the team’s narrow defeat to Germany in Monday’s international friendly.

Speaking to 3Sports, Mr. Okraku emphasised that the decision was guided by the paramount interest of the nation.

He added that the country needed a new technical direction and was therefore compelled by the decision.

“I think that when leading the team, you may have your strong opinions about issues, but there are moments that you need to listen to the team for the greater good of our country.

“And at this moment, we thought it’s Ghana first, and we have to go in a different direction,” he said.
