‘This is unacceptable’ – Road Minister slams contractors of Tema Roundabout project over Easter break

The Minister of Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, has lambasted contractors on the Tema Roundabout to Central University road project, questioning their plans to suspend work ahead of the Easter break.

Addressing the media on Thursday, April 2, 2026, the minister expressed deep frustration, stating, “We must say that it is extremely frustrating on your lot, because, I wasn’t even expecting, you are breaking for Easter, knowing what the public is going through here, Easter is just a weekend, knowing that you have been off site for a long period of time.”

The Minister dismissed financial constraints, stating that all payments have been settled and contractors, therefore, have no justification to cite funding issues.

“It’s not very good, and I don’t do this because of a personal thing; it’s too difficult to persuade you to understand what the public is going through.

“We have paid your bills, if it’s about money, we paid your bill, so start working. Don’t say that in your contract you said you will use one month to remobilize, but the public can’t take this,” he warned.

Mr. Agbodza noted that no Digital Human Modelling branded vehicles and equipment have been seen on site, describing the situation as unacceptable and far from the agreement made.

“Especially within your lot, it’s difficult to see anything that you are doing. Absolutely, I cannot even see one truck with a description of DHM on it, so I keep asking myself what is going on here. I can’t see any equipment here that you’ve paid for at least a week, nothing.
