The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) is investigating a significant dawn fire that destroyed structures at Dagomba Line near Oforikrom in Kumasi on April 8, 2026.

According to the GNFS, the fire devastated 226 wooden structures and their contents before firefighters from the KNUST Fire Station, along with support from the Regional Headquarters Substation and Asokore Mampong, managed to bring the fire under control.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported, but the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The GNFS noted that its swift response “saved lives and prevented further damage.”
