The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced Phase Two of its transformer upgrade exercise at the Lashibi Primary Substation following the successful completion of Phase One.

In a statement, the company noted that the Phase Two is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, April 14, and end on Thursday, April 16, 2026.

The power distributor indicated that the exercise will involve planned power outages in affected areas to ensure the safety of personnel and the smooth execution of the works.

ECG assured customers that measures have been put in place to minimise the duration and impact of the outages, urging the public to plan accordingly during the period.

According to the company, the upgrade forms part of broader efforts by the government to strengthen power infrastructure, reduce system overloads, and improve the reliability of electricity supply.

ECG said the initial phase of the government’s ongoing transformer replacement and upgrade programme was completed at the Nmai Dzorn Primary Substation.

ECG also expressed appreciation to customers for their patience and cooperation as the work is carried out.
