The Ghana National Gas Company has rejected claims of irregularities in its recent procurement activities, insisting that all procedures were conducted in accordance with the law.
In a statement issued and signed by Head of Corporate Affairs, Richard Ernest Kirk-Mensah, the company attributed the concerns to a routine change in its lead insurance provider following the expiration of previous contracts at the end of last year.
According to the company, the new insurance arrangements are part of a strengthened risk management approach aimed at safeguarding its assets.
“The Company wishes to categorically assure the general public that no wrongdoing has occurred,” the statement said.
It further stressed that all contracts awarded have received the necessary approvals from the Public Procurement Authority, backed by commitment authorizations from the Ministry of Finance.
Ghana Gas reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, compliance, and sound corporate governance, adding that it remains focused on delivering gas efficiently to meet the country’s energy demands.
The statement noted that the company will continue to review and strengthen its internal systems to ensure effective compliance and risk management.
