A road traffic accident at Mile 44 on the Accra–Kumasi Highway has claimed the life of one person and left nine others injured.
The incident occurred on Monday, April 13, 2026, involving a VIP bus and a ‘MAN’ diesel trailer, reportedly caused by wrongful overtaking by the bus.
In a statement issued by the Ghana National Fire Service, Suhum Municipal Fire Station responded to a distress call at about 4:24 a.m., arriving at the scene within minutes.
According to the Service, out of the 33 passengers on board the bus, one male was pronounced dead at the scene, while nine others, including one female and eight males, sustained varying injuries.
The Fire Service indicated that the “remaining 23 escaped unhurt, with no one being trapped.”
The Service further secured the accident scene and ensured safety before concluding their operation.
