The Kingdom of Morocco has donated 2,000 metric tonnes of fertiliser to Ghana in support of the government’s Feed Ghana initiative.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the initiative aims to boost agricultural productivity and enhance food security.

The fertilizer was officially received on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, during a brief ceremony hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Receiving the donation, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, expressed appreciation to the Moroccan government, describing the gesture as both “generous and timely intervention which reflects the cordial relation between the two countries.”

He revealed that Morocco has previously made a similar donation and has also shown readiness to support Ghana in local fertilizer production.

The Minister also highlighted ongoing collaboration between the two countries in areas such as visa facilitation and sports development, noting that these efforts will enhance mutual benefit for both nations.

“These initiatives would increase people to people-to-people exchange for mutual benefit of the citizens of the two countries,” part of the statement mentioned.
