Member of the New PatrioticParty’s (NPP) national communication team, Nana Kojo Agyei Yeboah, says that Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) is currently operating at 38% capacity and is being run “like a corn mill centre.”

Speaking on Angel FM’s ‘Anopa Bofo’ on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, he claimed the  information TOR provided to President Mahama that the refinery was fully operational at 100% was “a lie” and that the company was only processing “tolling”.

“We all want the progress of this country but TOR people’s information they gave to president Mahama when he traveled to Zambia or Zimbabwe that TOR is 100% in operation is is a lie that they are just doing tolling.

“TOR is running at 38% as we speak and they are running TOR as a corn mill machine centre, that is how they running TOR they are just doing tolling,” he stated.

Mr Yeboah further claimed that the Energy Minister’s public statement saying that Ghana has crude oil to last for the next six weeks and that tensions in the Middle East would not affect the country during that period was also false.

He asserted that Ghana, as a nation, currently does not even have “1 gallon of crude oil”, arguing that the situation shows leaders are not serious about telling the truth and helping the country.

He said the issue is not limited to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration, noting that similar practices occurred during the NPP era, and claiming this contributed to the NPP’s defeat in the 2024 elections.

He said the issue is not limited to the NDC administration, noting that similar practices occurred during the NPP era which he claimed contributed to the NPP’s defeat in the 2024 elections.

“That is why I came out to challenge the minister to come out to tell Ghanaians, one gallon of crude oil the country has that we are refining as a nation when he said we a have crude oil that can take us for 6 weeks, I challenged him and told him he is a liar.

“Are we really serious to help this nation? I will not blame it only on NDC, under our regime this things were going on but I will also say that, that is one of the reasons why Ghanaians voted against NPP,” he stated.
