Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has named four former ‘political rivals’ as co-chairs of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) policy committees, signaling a strategic move to unify party efforts.
The appointees include all four presidential aspirants in the party’s January 2026 primary, in which he defeated them to become the flagbearer.
They are: Kennedy Ohene Agyapong – Co-Chair of the Employment and Jobs Policy Committee, Dr. Bryan Acheampong – Co-Chair of the Defence and Interior Policy Committee, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum – Co-Chair of the Education Policy Committee, and Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyapong – Co-Chair of the Housing and Urban Development Policy Committee.
The committee is chaired by Member of Parliament (MP) for Ofoase Ayirebi Constituency, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, with Dr. Kwasi Nyame Baafi serving as Secretary to ensure technical and administrative coordination.
The move is seen as an effort to strengthen the NPP’s policy framework by integrating diverse expertise and perspectives from former rivals within the party.
