The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced the establishment of 30 Standing and Sector Committees following a decision by its National Executive Committee and National Council at a meeting.

The announcement, made on Friday, May 8, 2026, aligns with the relevant provisions of the party’s constitution, according to the opposition party.

A statement signed by Justin Kodua Frimpong, General Secretary of the NPP, and issued on May 8, 2026, observed that these Committees were established under Article 10(2)(6), Article 10(3)(8), and Article 14(5) of the party constitution. The Standing Committees consist of 7 members, while there are 23 Sector Committees.

Some key committees announced include: Finance & Economy, Constitutional and Legal Affairs, Health, Research, Communications, and a few others.

The NPP explained that the constitution of these Committees forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen its internal structures, deepen policy development, enhance stakeholder engagement, and reposition the party for effective political organization as well as national governance.

These Committees, the party added, are expected to support its strategic direction by providing expert guidance and leadership across various sectors and thematic areas.

The party congratulated all appointed members of the Committees and expressed confidence in their ability to discharge their responsibilities diligently and in the supreme interest of the NPP and Ghana.
