The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has announced that the Ghana Army, in collaboration with the Ghana Navy and the Ghana Air Force, will conduct a joint military exercise in the Bono and Upper East Regions.
The exercise, codenamed Exercise Storm Shield 2026, will run from Sunday, 10 May to Wednesday, 20 May 2026.
According to GAF, the exercise is designed as an Internal Security and Counter-Insurgency Field Training Exercise aimed at enhancing operational readiness and rapid-response capability to address contemporary security threats.
A statement issued by the Department of Public Relations at the General Headquarters noted that residents in the two regions may observe increased military activities during the period. The public has been advised not to panic but to continue with their normal duties.
The Armed Forces further assured the general public of its commitment to safeguarding Ghana’s territorial integrity, peace, and security.
