Three people lost their lives in a tragic road traffic collision that occurred in the early hours of Monday, May 11, 2026, at Odumasi Ohene Nkwanta near Rider Steel along the Kumasi-Accra highway.
The crash involved a Mitsubishi Outlander (DV G8180) and a Benz Sprinter minibus (GE 6024-22), resulting in the deaths of three men and injuries to twenty others.
Firefighters from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), responding to a distress call, managed to rescue trapped victims and convey the injured to Hope Care Hospital, Asante Akim Central Municipal Hospital, and RIS Hospital.
The deceased were retrieved and handed over to the MTTD Police for preservation.
In a statement, the GNFS said, the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
