Ghanaian comedian and actor Funny Face has opened up about one of his biggest regrets, admitting that he wishes he had married Esi of Chorkor Trotro fame, with whom he starred in the once-popular television series.
Speaking candidly in an interview, the comedian revealed that although they were never romantically involved, Esi genuinely cared for him during a period when fame had started changing his perspective on relationships.
“I should have married Esi, the lady I was shooting the Chorkor Trotro series with,” Funny Face said. “We weren’t dating but now after everything and years down the line, I realized I should have married her. She cared for me, she genuinely cared for me.

According to him, Esi stood out because she was never interested in his wealth, fame, or flashy lifestyle, even after he received a Range Rover during the peak of his rise in the entertainment industry from former Togolese footballer Emmanuel Adebayor, in 2012.
“At that time, Adey had given me the Range Rover, but that girl didn’t even care about the Range I had. She would just do her thing and go,” he recalled.
Funny Face contrasted Esi’s behavior with some women he believes become attracted to successful men only after they have achieved fame and financial stability.
“You see some ladies, they will wait for you to finish everything so they can sit in the front seat like a passenger princess, but Esi didn’t do that,” he added.
Reflecting on the past, the comedian admitted that fame affected his judgment and prevented him from appreciating genuine people around him.
“But you see, at that time fame had clouded my judgment,” he stated.
