The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has launched the Ghana Tourism Information System (GTIS), a digital platform designed to simplify licensing, regulatory processes, and improve service delivery for tourism operators.
Speaking at the launch at Accra City Hotel, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GTA, Maame Efua Houadjeto emphasized that the system will empower operators, promote accountability, and boost public confidence.

According to Madam Houadjeto, the platform allows operators to apply, renew, manage records, and pay levies digitally.
“The Ghana Tourism Information System has been designed to empower tourism operators by giving them direct access to licensing and regulatory processes in a more efficient and convenient way.
“Through this platform, operators can apply, renew, manage records, file returns and pay their levies digitally with greater ease and transparency,” Madam Houadjeto stated on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

She highted that the GTIS features a Licensed Facility Verification System, enabling the public to verify legitimate tourism facilities. A Customer Service Register module will soon be introduced to capture service and customer data, guiding policy decisions and investment.

The launch marks a significant step in modernizing tourism regulation and promoting industry growth.
Madam Houadjeto further encouraged operators to support the system for a stronger, more competitive industry.
