The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts has launched the 2026 Afro-Gastro Festival and National Heritage Photography Competition to showcase Ghana’s cultural heritage and empower young creatives.
The two initiatives were unveiled at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park in Accra.

Afro-Gastro will highlight African cuisine, indigenous ingredients and culinary tourism opportunities.
The Heritage Photography Competition targets young people aged 25 and below, challenging them to capture and document Ghana’s cultural identity through photography.

Both flagship programmes aim to promote tourism, innovation and cultural preservation while boosting the creative economy.
The launch brought together government officials, development partners, creative industry players and tourism stakeholders.

Organisers say the initiatives reaffirm Ghana’s commitment to leveraging culture, heritage and the creative economy as drivers of national development and Pan-African collaboration.
