The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called on Ghanaian Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) and entrepreneurs to provide jobs for citizens being evacuated from South Africa, announcing that 120 job offers have already been secured for returnees.
The appeal was made in a Facebook post by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, urging business leaders to back the Ministry’s jobs initiative for Ghanaians being evacuated from South Africa.
According to the Ministry, the 120 opportunities came from patriotic Ghanaian business owners and are being coordinated through its Delivery Unit, led by Ambassador Alexander Grant Ntrakwa.
The Ministry urged CEOs and entrepreneurs willing to hire returnees to reach the unit on 056 1108 000.
The Ministry added that the initiative is part of government’s plan to reintegrate evacuated citizens and ensure they have livelihoods upon return.
The effort reflects its commitment to citizens, adding “Ghana always cares. We value and cherish all our citizens.”
The evacuation follows recent developments in South Africa affecting foreign nationals.
