Musician and entrepreneur, Mzbel, has sparked debate on social media after sharing her unconventional views on marriage, relationships, and love.
In a discussion with ZionFelix, Mzbel stated that she has no interest in marriage, describing it as “free slavery” and insisting that she would never encourage any young woman close to her to get married.
According to her, the traditional expectations placed on wives, including cooking, washing, and cleaning for their husbands, make marriage unattractive.
“I see marriage as free slavery in disguise because I cannot cook and wash for a man. You will wash for him, clean for him; I can’t do that. Marriage is not for me, and I will not encourage any girl close to me to get married because it’s free slavery,” she said.
The singer added that she values her independence and does not want to be controlled by any man.
“I’m my own boss. I’m the mother and the father. No man can tell me what to do. We can date, but the moment you start controlling me, I’m done,” she stated.
Mzbel also revealed that she does not believe in love, describing it as a “scam.” Instead, she said relationships should be based on attraction and how partners make each other feel.
“I go into a relationship because I’m attracted to the person. I don’t believe in love because love is a scam. I believe in attraction and how you make me feel,” she explained.
She further noted that while she has no problem with dating and intimacy, she loses interest when relationships become demanding or stressful.
The veteran entertainer also cited family involvement as one of the reasons she dislikes marriage, arguing that relationships are not necessarily meant to last forever.
“I don’t want drama; that is why I don’t like marriage because family members get involved. People force relationships to last forever, but sometimes people have to come and go,” she said.
