A mobile money vendor has reportedly been shot dead following a suspected robbery attack at the Gomoa Dominase Onion Market in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
One other person sustained gun wounds and is currently receiving medical attention following the incident on Saturday, June 6, 2026.
According to reports, five suspected heavily armed robbers stormed the market and fired more than 20 rounds of ammunition during the attack.
An eyewitness, Yussif Mohammed, told Angel News reporter Opanin Darko that the attackers specifically targeted the mobile money vendor, shooting him in the stomach, neck, and back before fleeing the scene.
He added that traders thought the gunfire was coming from the police, so they were unable to move closer to the scene.
The Gomoa Dominase District Police Command has launched an investigation into the incident to apprehend the perpetrators.
