Bishop Daniel Obinim has accused a social media group known as Team Legal Wives of contributing to challenges in his marriage to gospel singer Florence Obinim.
According to the founder of the International God’s Way Church, his relationship with his wife has faced difficulties since Florence became associated with the group, claiming that some members have been giving her what he described as bad advice.
Speaking during a church service, Obinim expressed concern about the people his wife associates with and suggested that their influence has negatively affected their marriage.
“I am worried about the people Florence Obinim surrounds herself with,” he stated.
The controversial preacher also referenced a recent interview in which Florence publicly expressed gratitude toward him, saying he interpreted her comments differently.
“After watching the interview in which she thanked me, I felt uneasy. In my view, those around her may believe they are acting out of love, but their influence is only complicating the situation,” he stated.
Obinim further alleged that some individuals within the group have even threatened him.
“I’m getting scared of them. If you listen to some of them, it’s even threats they are threatening me with,” he lamented.
The bishop also defended his conduct as a husband, arguing that many married men would struggle to make similar claims about their relationships.
“Not every man can come out and say they don’t have any wife aside from their wife, or even have a girlfriend aside from their wife. How many men can say this?” he questioned.
Touching on reports of a disagreement between Florence Obinim and actress Benedicta Gafah, Obinim revealed that he was surprised by the incident and blocked her after.
“ When I heard that Benedicta Gafah and Florence had a misunderstanding, I was disappointed. I cannot tolerate anyone disrespecting my wife, regardless of our relationship. Because of that incident, I stopped communicating with her and blocked her. My loyalty is to Florence, and I took that decision to protect my marriage,” Obinim said.
