The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has issued a #FloodAlert after heavy rains that began last night continued through to this morning, leaving several parts of Accra and its environs submerged.
The rains have been very heavy this morning, causing flooding in multiple low-lying and traffic-prone areas across the capital.
In a public alert on Monday, June 29, 2026, the GNFS listed some of the affected areas.
“List of some flooded areas; Neoplan, Kaneshie, Taifa, Barrier, Abeka Junction, Taifa, Adenta, Tesano, Kasoa, Afienya, Prampram,” the Service said, urging residents to exercise caution.
The GNFS also called on the public to prioritize safety as the downpour persists.
Motorists and pedestrians in the listed areas are advised to avoid flooded streets and seek alternative routes to prevent being trapped by rising waters.
