Brigadier General Forster Okae-Yeboah is to lead a new flood mitigation exercise aimed at protecting communities from further flooding.
According to a Facebook post by the Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Brigadier General Okae-Yeboah, who serves as Director General, Joint Operations, has been tasked to lead an “uncompromising, robust, and all-action Flood Mitigation Exercise.”
The appointment comes as Ghana faces heightened flooding risks.
Brigadier General Okae-Yeboah is expected to brief the public on the operations of his team and the measures being put in place.
The address is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 3, 2026, where he will outline steps being taken to “decisively protect Ghanaians from further flooding,” the post stated.
