The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the payment of three years of outstanding Academic Intervention arrears to eligible staff of Senior High Schools and Senior High Technical Schools across the country.
In a statement signed by the Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, and issued on Monday, July 7, 2026, GES said the payment covers the 2023/2024, 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic years.
“Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) is pleased to announce the payment of the three years’ Academic Intervention arrears for eligible staff of Senior High Schools (SHSs) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTSs),” the statement said.
According to GES, the payment is expected to strengthen staff motivation and improve the delivery of the Academic Intervention Programme.
Management also acknowledged the patience and professionalism shown by teachers while awaiting the release of the funds.
“We acknowledge the patience, understanding and professionalism demonstrated by staff while awaiting the release of the intervention,” Mr. Fenyi stated.
GES further assured all stakeholders of its continued commitment to quality education through the Academic Intervention Programme.
