Aspiring National Democratic Congress (NDC) Women’s Organizer, Betty Krosbi Mensah, has commended President John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government for releasing GH¢400 million to capitalize the Women’s Development Bank.
In a statement on Monday, July 13, 2026, Madam Krosbi Mensah described the funding as a “landmark investment” that demonstrates the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment beyond political promises.
“Empowering women is not just a promise—it is a commitment being fulfilled,” she stated.
She continued: “This bold step will provide women entrepreneurs, traders, farmers, and business owners with greater access to finance, helping them expand their businesses, create jobs, and contribute even more to Ghana’s economic growth.”
She said the initiative reaffirms that the empowerment of women remains a national priority under the Mahama-led administration.
According to her, access to capital has long been a major barrier for women in business, and the new bank is expected to bridge that gap. “As an aspiring NDC Women’s Organizer, I am encouraged by this bold step,” she added. “Together, we must ensure that every woman has the opportunity to succeed, lead, and prosper.”
Madam Krosbi Mensah stressed that investing in women has a multiplier effect on national development.
“When we empower women, we empower families, communities, and the future of our nation,” she said.
