The Nungua District Police Command is investigating a case of alleged assault on a civilian by some suspected Police officers at Teshie in the Greater Accra Region.
The complainant Alidu Mahama, is a resident of Teshie, according to a statement from the Ghana Police Service.
Police said on July 14, 2026, the complainant reported to the Police with visible injuries, alleging that on the same day, he was attacked and assaulted by some Police officers at Teshie without any provocation.
According to the statement, a Police medical report form has been issued to facilitate the victim’s medical examination and treatment to support ongoing investigations.
In light of the pending medical report, efforts are underway to identify the officers involved for interrogation and any further necessary action.
The Police assures the public that the matter is being treated with the utmost seriousness and that any officer found culpable will be dealt with in accordance with the law and Police disciplinary procedures.
It encourages members of the public to continue reporting incidents of alleged Police misconduct and assures them that “all such complaints will be investigated fairly, impartially and professionally.”
