Chief of Staff, Dr. Julius Debrah, has reaffirmed government’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to advance research, innovation, entrepreneurship and industrial development.
Representing President John Dramani Mahama at the investiture of Professor Christian Agyare as the 13th Vice-Chancellor of KNUST, Dr. Debrah said government is committed to ensuring that knowledge generated by universities translates into practical solutions that create jobs, address national challenges and improve the lives of Ghanaians.
He noted that education remains one of Ghana’s greatest instruments for national transformation and stressed the importance of closer collaboration between government, academia and industry to accelerate the country’s economic development.
Dr. Debrah said government looks forward to working closely with KNUST to strengthen research and innovation while promoting entrepreneurship and industry partnerships that will support national growth.
He also called on universities to continue producing graduates whose academic excellence is matched by integrity, innovation and a strong commitment to national development.
The Chief of Staff paid tribute to KNUST Chancellor, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for his leadership, and commended the outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Professor Rita Akosua Dickson, for her dedicated service and contributions to the university.
Dr. Debrah congratulated Professor Christian Agyare on his appointment and expressed confidence in his ability to lead KNUST into a new phase of academic excellence, innovation and national impact.
