Zoomlion Ghana Limited has pledged to pay all outstanding salary arrears owed to Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assembly (MMDA) fumigation workers immediately once the Government of Ghana releases the outstanding funds.
In a statement issued on Monday, August 3, 2026, the company said it fully appreciates the difficulties caused by the delay and remains committed to settling every legitimate payment due under the MMDA Fumigation Project.
“Management wishes to assure all affected workers that the company fully appreciates the challenges associated with the delay and remains committed to ensuring that every legitimate outstanding payment is made as soon as the necessary funds are received,” the statement said.
Zoomlion explained that the current delay is due to late release of funds from government and MMDAs, and not from any internal payroll failure. The company noted that over the past 15 years it has maintained a consistent record of paying employees and field operatives on the project nationwide.
According to Zoomlion, management has been in continuous and constructive dialogue with the Government of Ghana and the various MMDAs to secure the release of payments due under the contract. The company said it has received assurances that processes for disbursement are being finalized to enable payment.
“Management wishes to state clearly, and without reservation, that all arrears owed to our workers under the project will be settled promptly once these outstanding payments are received,” it added.
The company acknowledged the hardship the delay has caused and commended workers for their patience, understanding and dedication. Zoomlion said their work in vector control and environmental sanitation has been critical in safeguarding public health in communities across the country.
Zoomlion also recognized the constitutional right of workers to express concerns peacefully. It appealed to all affected staff to remain calm and to continue placing confidence in the ongoing engagements aimed at resolving the matter.
The company reaffirmed its long-standing partnership with the Government of Ghana and MMDAs, and its commitment to employee welfare and the delivery of quality environmental sanitation services in support of national development.
