Political Science lecturer and Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Shippers Authority (GSA), Professor Ransford Gyampo, has taken a swipe at the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following its National Delegates Conference.
The NPP on Saturday, October 3, 2026, elected new national executives at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, where over 7,000 delegates voted to elect a new leadership to steer the affairs of the party for the next four years ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Former General Secretary John Boadu was elected National Chairman, Justin Frimpong Kodua was retained as General Secretary, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover won the National Organiser position, Mavis Hawa Koomson was elected Women’s Organiser, among others.
But reacting to the outcome in a post on his Facebook wall, Prof. Gyampo said the results show the party has not learnt any lessons from its defeat in the 2024 general elections.
“The outcome of their elections show two things. First, it is decidedly clear that there’s no remorse, there’s no change.
Second, their political arrogance has deafened them such that they couldn’t hear what Ghanaians told them in 2024. Ok,” Prof. Gyampo posted.
His comment has since generated mixed reactions on social media, with supporters of the NPP defending the choice of delegates, while others agree with his assessment that the party recycled old faces.
