The Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the release of the Capitation Grant for the first term of the 2026/2027 academic year.
In a statement signed by the Deputy Director-General (Quality and Access), Munawaru Issahaque (PhD), for the Director-General, GES said the grant has been transferred to the various accounts of the District Education Directorates for onward disbursement to schools.
According to GES, the funds transferred to the District Accounts include the Sports and Culture component for District Offices, while the Regional (Sports and Culture) components have been transferred to the various designated accounts of the Regional offices.
GES has therefore directed Regional Directors to ensure that the funds are transferred to the schools on or before Friday, October 30, to enable Heads of Basic Schools to operate seamlessly.
The Service further disclosed that a team from its Headquarters will be visiting the regions for monitoring in the first week of November, and has urged Regional Directors to ensure that the funds are transferred to the schools immediately.
“Management is counting on your usual cooperation,” the letter stated.
