Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has consoled Deputy Chief of Staff Nana Oye Bampoe Addo following the death of her twin brothers, Dr Isaac Atteh Bampoe Addo and Sidney Nii Oko Akuetteh Bampoe Addo, assuring the bereaved family of the government’s support.

Speaking on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama and the government when the families of Nana Oye Bampoe Addo officially informed President John Dramani Mahama of the death of her two brothers, Dr Debrah acknowledged the pain of losing loved ones and urged the bereaved families to find comfort in their faith.
“It’s not an easy matter, so to say, but it’s happened already, and as we’ve always been told, in the infinite wisdom of God, our creator, he ordains the life pace of each and every one of us,” he said.
He encouraged the families not to be overly disturbed by the loss, noting that death was beyond human control.
“We want to encourage all of us not to overly be disturbed by what has happened, because we don’t have any control over it, but we should rather commit our lives into the bosom of the Lord,” Dr Debrah stated.

The Chief of Staff also paid tribute to the late Dr Isaac Atteh Bampoe Addo for his contribution to organised labour and his efforts to protect the interests of workers in Ghana.
He said the late labour leader’s contribution would continue to inspire the labour movement despite his passing.
“Though Isaac is no more with us, you need to be encouraged that once a great comrade has fought for your interests, in spirit he will continue to fight with us,” he said.
Dr Debrah further pledged the government’s support to the bereaved families from Shama, Akropon and Nga to ensure that the deceased receive a dignified farewell.
“Whatever it takes for us to do in support of the family, to bid our brothers decent farewell, we’ll definitely do it, because they were national heroes, so to speak,” he assured.
Addressing Nana Oye Bampoe Addo directly, the Chief of Staff reaffirmed the government’s love and support for her during the difficult period.
“Though your biological brothers are no more with us, we want to use the occasion to let you know and to reaffirm our love for you because of who you are,” Dr Debrah said.
He added that government representatives would join the families in November to mourn the deceased and pay their respects.
Dr Debrah concluded by praying for the peaceful repose of the souls of the two brothers.
