The twin brothers of Deputy Chief of Staff Nana Oye Bampoe Addo will be laid to rest on November 7, 2026, at the forecourt of the State House in Accra.
The family announced the funeral arrangements during a visit to the Presidency to formally inform the government of the burial and final funeral rites of the two brothers, Dr Isaac Atebampuadu and Sidney Nii Okubampuadu.
Speaking on behalf of the family, the family head said the visit was to honour an earlier commitment to formally inform the Presidency once arrangements for the final funeral rites had been finalised.
“We are here to inform you, officially inform you of the burial and final funeral rites of our two fallen brothers,” the family representative said.
The family disclosed that Dr Isaac died on August 22, 2026, while his elder twin brother, Sidney Nii Okubampuadu, died on September 14, 2026, about three weeks later.
As part of the funeral arrangements, a memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 8, at the Venice International Chapel, the church attended by Dr Isaac.
A second memorial service has also been scheduled for November 15 at the Matthias of Uganda Catholic Church at Mamprobi, where both brothers were baptised.
The family has invited the government and other well-wishers to participate in the funeral ceremonies from the beginning to the end.
As part of customary practice, the family also presented bottles of schnapps to the Presidency to formally extend the invitation.
The family further indicated that the funeral would feature black and white or white and black attire, in keeping with customs associated with the burial of twins.
The detailed funeral programme, including the appropriate dress code for the various ceremonies, will be communicated to invitees later.
