Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has called for the rule of law to prevail in the alleged sexual assault case involving the headmaster of Obuasi Senior High Technical School (SHTS), Zakaria Abdulai.
She described the matter as a serious national concern that requires due process.
“This is a very serious matter. It is a matter of concern to all of us, and it is a matter of national concern,” she said on Wednesday, October 21.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang said she has been following developments closely, even while away.
“I have seen what the party did regarding this gentleman who wanted to run on our ticket, I’ve seen the letter that was written by our secretary general. I’ve also heard the response from the minister for the interior at the PAC meeting I think yesterday,” she stated.
She stressed that the consequences of the case could affect the future of those involved, hence the need to allow the law to take its full course.
