The Tesano Divisional Police Command has arrested a 19-year-old girl for allegedly stabbing her 33-year-old boyfriend to death at Ofankor Barrier in Accra.
The suspect, Emmanuella Asante, reportedly stabbed Enoch Abrokwa in the chest with a piece of broken glass during a confrontation at the deceased’s business premises on October 9, 2026.
According to a police statement, preliminary investigations revealed that a disagreement between the two escalated into violence, resulting in the stabbing.
The victim was rushed to a hospital at Taifa-Burkina and later referred to the Ridge Hospital, where he underwent surgery for a deep wound that affected his intestines.
He, however, died on October 14, 2026, while receiving treatment, the police stated.
Emmanuella was subsequently arrested on October 10, 2026, after she was brought to the police by a complainant and three others.
She reportedly admitted to stabbing the deceased and has since remained in police custody to assist with investigations.
The police say she is expected to reappear before the court on November 3, 2026.
The statement has urged the public to resolve disputes peacefully and avoid acts of violence, while appealing for cooperation as investigations continue.
