The Gaming Commission of Ghana has opened four new zonal offices in Swedru, Ho, Asante Bekwai and Sefwi Wiawso in 2026, Acting Commissioner Dr Emmanuel Siisi Quainoo has announced.
Dr. Quainoo disclosed this while speaking on the sidelines of activities marking the Commission’s 20th anniversary, highlighting the expansion as part of the institution’s progress over the years.
The four offices add to three zonal offices established during his previous tenure as Commissioner from 2014 to 2017, bringing the number of offices opened during his two periods of leadership to seven.
Dr. Quainoo, who was reappointed in 2025, said the anniversary offered an opportunity for the Commission to reflect on its achievements and give thanks to God for how far it had come.
He also prayed for incident-free anniversary celebrations and wished all participating teams well ahead of the scheduled inter-agency activities.
The Commission will mark the milestone with three days of activities involving agencies under the Ministry of the Interior from October 28 to 30, 2026.
The programme will begin with a float through the principal streets of Accra on October 28, followed by cooking and eating competitions at the Police Headquarters Event Centre on October 29. The celebrations will conclude with sporting competitions at Burma Camp on October 30.
Established in 2006 under the Gaming Act, 2006 (Act 721), the Gaming Commission of Ghana is responsible for regulating gaming activities, including sports betting, casinos, roulette and other games of chance.
