The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has announced a ban on the parking and loading of commercial vehicles around the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) Gee Roundabout.
The directive takes effect from Sunday, November 1, 2026. The assembly said the decision is a reiteration of an earlier notice issued on October 13.
In the notice, the KMA stated that this is aimed at improving accessibility and ensuring effective emergency response services around the premier health facility.
“To enhance ease and compliance, commercial and private vehicles are advised to always drop passengers off at the taxi rank in front of the OPD of the Komfo Anokye Polyclinic,” the Assembly noted.
The KMA further directed commercial vehicle operators currently occupying the area around the roundabout and behind the polyclinic towards 4 Garrison to vacate the location before an enforcement exercise begins.
“Commercial vehicles operating around the above-stated location and behind the Polyclinic towards 4 Garrison are advised to vacate the area before being evicted by the KMA’s Special Security Taskforce on Monday 2nd November 2026,” it stated.
The KMA appealed to drivers, transport operators and passengers to cooperate fully with the directive to ensure smooth implementation of the measures.
